Students will walk away with a deeper understanding of how the Soviet's came to power in Russia.

This class details in length the overthrow of a democratic government. While not scary, it can be potentially difficult to discuss how a democratic government is overthrown by its military / radical elements.
We will be leaning extensively on the book "The Soviet Experiment: Russia, the USSR, and the Successor States” by Grigor Suny.
