Skills such as measuring, math skills, gross motor skills and problem solving to name a few! We will discuss the science of why we need certain ingredients to make good cookies and how we can create "Switch Ups" to change the flavour of the recipe! This hands on, live class, will be fun and interactive. We will get to know each other through interactive groups, listen to animated explainer videos and students can ask questions during our live class. Parents will be given a list of ingredients in advance, along with a list of equipment. Parents will have their child ready to cook by using the prepared checklist that will be provided for them. Kids will be responsible for the clean up after and will earn a "Michelin Star" if they have successfully cleaned up after themselves!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Jeannette loves to cook and loves to teach! Her passion is learning about how recipes work and discovering new great concepts that help make recipes better. Somewhat of a science nerd, Jeannette likes to break down a recipe to understand how and why the recipe works. Then she reassembles it to include variations of the recipe. By doing this, the students not only learn a new recipe but also learn the concept BEHIND the recipe. Jeannette calls this "Principle Concepts". When the students learn the principle concept, they learn the theory of the recipe and how they can adapt it, taking their cooking skills to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!
All steps and concepts are broken down in plain language and use a variety of methods from explainer videos, visuals, fun exercises, and live tutorials making the classes engaging and fun!
Her passion for teaching food is based on over 20 years of experience in the food industry as a chef and manager. Her passion for teaching kids is based on the fact that she has three beautiful girls that are just as inquisitive as her!
So sign up for one of her courses and get ready to have fun! It's going to be a blast! Her intimate classes will sign up fast as she only accepts a certain amount of students per class!
