Hi and welcome to Embarking on The Journey of Responsibility: Stories of Ownership and Change! In this two-part class, students will learn what it takes to stop making excuses, take more ownership, and find more meaning in every day responsibilities. I believe it's especially helpful for students to look at taking responsibility as a journey- there are ups and downs, seemingly impossible crevasses to pass, necessary skills learned along the way, failures, successes, and so much more....
Students will walk away with more insight into their own excuse-making patterns, more motivation to take ownership in their lives, and a clearer idea of what it means to be a responsible person.
1 file available upon enrollmentA printable worksheet will be provided prior to class time.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I recognize that each student has a unique background, and so the process will look different for everyone. These actionable steps are general tips that I will encourage each student to adapt to their unique lives how they see fit. As is the case for all of my classes, I encourage critical thinking and students are always free to disagree with the tips provided. We will have ample discussion time for this.
