This private guitar lesson will be one of two in learning the traditional piece, "The Irish Washerwoman." This is a challenging piece and the learn should have completed my first two classes on "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "Ode to Joy." It is recommended that the learner warm up before the class so that the fingers will not hurt (well too much!). Before we break down each measure of the piece, the learner will first familiarize themselves with the new notation - the eighth note. A...
In this lesson, the student will learn: *how to read music with the letter notes written below each note *6/8 rhythmic pattern with eighth notes *F sharp *pick up notes *guitar picking *repeat sign *playing with a metronome for speed and just a very fun piece to play for themselves and family!
Students are encouraged to practice daily on their guitar to improve and on their playing. Anytime a student learns a piece of music it is a good practice to keep trying to perfect that piece and to add it to his / her repertoire! (*repertoire - a collection of music pieces)
