I have taught many book studies in my professional career. I am currently running multiple novel studies on Outschool that have been met with great success and interest. I love taking part in discussions and ensuring that the students' needs and interests are met as they read. Eragon is one of my favorite novels in one of my favorite book series of all time. I hope to share my love of this series with students!
Students will be completing the reading outside of class time and they are asked to complete any work outside of class that we are not able to complete in class.
Students will need to purchase their own novel for the course. You can find the novel that I suggest through Barnes and Noble and through Amazon Prime at both of these links. All other handouts and activities will be provided by the teacher!

Barnes and Noble: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/eragon-christopher-paolini/1100292381?ean=9780593377109
     - This is a signed version when you first open the link, but the paperback version is also available at this link.
Amazon Prime: https://www.amazon.com/Eragon-Inheritance-Book-Christopher-Paolini/dp/0375826696/ref=sr_1_1?crid=BO1U6HOBP6SF&dchild=1&keywords=eragon+book+1&qid=1610401157&sprefix=eragon%2Caps%2C1056&sr=8-1
There will be an optional essay writing prompt and an additional project with topic options that students are welcome to work through. This will be provided at the end of the course!
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
There is violence in the novel as it follows the story of a series of races battle against one another to regain control of Alagaësia which is ruled by King Galbatorix, the mad king. It can be gory, violent, and emotional at times, so please feel free to read through the Common Sense Media Parental Guidance Article!
