CLASS EXPERIENCE: MINECRAFT BEDROCK EDITION. This edition can be played on PC, Mac, Android, and iOS. We will NOT be using Minecraft Java Edition. AGE RANGE: This class is designed for all ages and skill levels. Basic knowledge of English and Computers will be highly beneficial. Prior experience with Minecraft is not required. CLASS OVERVIEW: In this class we will be learning what life was like during the time of the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution impacted the whole world and gave us much of the technology that we take for granted today. We will be focused in on the United Kingdom as this is where the Industrial Revolution. We will learn why it started here and what we gained from it. The Industrial Revolution gave us the world around us today. We will take a tour in a city around the time of the Industrial Revolution through the game of Minecraft. We will get to see what life was like for the average person in an ever changing world. Each student will then come up with their own invention to show the class. We will see the Industrial Revolution like never before! The Industrial Revolution should not just be kept in the history books.
Learning Goals
In this class we will start our tour in an Industrial city within Minecraft. We will learn why the Industrial Revolution began in England and why it flourished here. We will also gain an insight into the daily life of average people during this revolutionary time. The Industrial Revolution created the world around us and it should be taught in a modern way. History will be brought to life!
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Some of the topics being discussed will involve sensitive topics, such as religion and war. This course will provide multiple viewpoints and come from a neutral standpoint. History is not always positive and this course will reflect this. The class is designed for children and is suitable for all ages.
Supply List
A Minecraft account (also known as Minecraft Bedrock Edition) must be purchased by the learner. Learners will receive access to the Minecraft server address to connect to. Minecraft Java Edition will NOT work. A pair of headphones and microphone are also needed.
