In this one-time course, students will learn additional internet safety topics including public wi-fi access, filtering explicit content, how to restrict your modes to eliminate inappropriate content, how malware infections work, what is spoofing, and so much more. This course is only 55 minutes but, will be packed with information; a lecture style class will be presented ending with a question and answer session. I am a cyber security major who has over fifteen years of experience teaching elementary, middle, and high school students.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I do not sugar coat the topic of internet safety — it is vital that students understand the effects and how they need to act if online....this is for their own protection !! I will be discussing what is explicit and inappropriate content that can be found online in a professional manner; and why it is important to not entertain or participate.
