I will teach an original titled lesson on hyperboles, “The Hype About Hyperboles.” This lesson will guide the meaning and use of hyperboles as literary devices, much like the tools needed in any area to enhance effectiveness. This class will also provide examples of hyperboles for learners to analyze and interpret the figures of speech. I will guide the fact that hyperboles should not be taken literally. This study allow learners to connect with the origin of the word hyperbole and transfer that information into mental mnemonic devices. These devices provide additional success for retrieving the concepts presented. My class is structured as a live class, with content knowledge developed by examples and clarity. I also structure classroom participation and feedback to assess on-going understanding and to inspire student "by-in". I structure reinforcement of the learning concepts with devices to enhance successful retrieval. Fun and success are key elements in my class structure , as well as informal assessment. I teach with passion and inclusivity. I guide with the use of open-ended questions. My teaching style is one of great expectations from the learners and always one of respect given to learners and their parents. I manage the classroom without being imposing and commanding. Learners will have the opportunity to interact after open-ended questions, open discussion, as well as, time provided for verbal or chat- texted submittals of created hyperboles. Learners will give feedback to each other only when appropriate and facilitated by instruction. I will incorporate the use of google slides and other visuals. I will praise all learners, as well as elicit learner feedback. I will guide learners to take the original meaning from the word hyperbole and apply it to an amusing mental picture. I will guide learners to demonstrate their learning by creating their own "hyped" expressions. No extra requirement needed.
Learning Goals
Learners will specifically improve their understanding of hyperboles and analyze examples with more success translating figurative language to the literal. Learners will understand that hyperboles are exaggerated literary devices and will make the connections that these devices are tools. Learners will synthesize two derivates from the Greek word hyperbola and apply the understanding to a guided amusing mental picture ( a mnemonic device). The learner will also create an original "hyped" expression to demonstrate concept understanding.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have had relevant training for over 20 years designing, coordinating, classroom teaching, private teaching and tutoring language arts. However, I believe my lived experience as a mother of seven, while being an educator, has been greater than my training with a M.A. in Education. Why? Because, in order to be effective at home and in my profession, I learned and lived the art of inspiring unforgettable learning.
