US Grade 3 - 5
In this class, students will review the human body and five of the main systems. This class will run 6 weeks to allow for deep and rich discussions of each system, and review each body system. Week 1- The human body and its main job (life) and basic needs for healthy body in the digestive system (food, water, air) Week 2- The skeletal system (major bones and muscles in the body and its role) Week 3- The nervous system (the nerves of the body and what they help the body do and the brain's major job) Week 4- The circulatory system (what parts of the body help with circulation and the hearts major job) Week 5- The respiratory system (the lungs and their role) Week 6- The body combined and how each layer works together with a quizizz review at the end Each week, students will follow the following lesson format for content: Video- students will watch a prerecorded video and complete a notetaker for their records while they watch the video. Answer keys will be provided every Friday. Practice Activity- Students will receive an activity to complete each week, including labeling graphs, reading passages, and more. Daily Questions- Students will receive daily questions (5 a week) to answer in the classroom for a discussion. Students will receive feedback to their answers each week Review Games- Students will receive weekly games from kahoot.com and breakoutedu.com to practice their content. Subscriptions are not required to these sites to play and weekly links will be provided in the classroom each week by Friday of that week. Assessment- Students will receive a final assessment in the final week to review content learned from the course to demonstrate mastery.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to understand 5 major body systems and their functions within the body. Students will be able to identify the systems and their jobs to make the body function.

Parental Guidance
Material covered will discuss the human body. While the reproductive system is important, that will not be discussed in this course as we will focus on the main systems and their functions in this class.
Supply List
Students will be provided a note taker sheet each week to fill in through our lesson with a diagram to fill in. Students will also need access to quizizz and breakoutedu.com to play review games each week. The link for the games will be provided during each lesson as each quiz generates a new code each time.
