We will discuss four of the fundamental human anatomical systems in this interactive, engaging class. -Week 1: In week one, we will learn about the anatomy of the human skeletal system as well as breaking the entire skeleton down into regional groups to better understand the many different bones that comprise the skeleton. In addition to learning the names of many bones, we will also go over each different type or classification as well. -Week 2: In week two, we will learn about the anatomy of the human muscular system as well as breaking the entire system down into regional groups to better understand the many different muscles that comprise this system. In addition to learning the names of major muscles, we will also go over each different type or classification as well. -Week 3: In week three, we will learn about the anatomy of the human circulatory system as well as breaking the entire system down into regional groups to better understand the many different blood vessels and organs that comprise the circulatory system. In addition to learning the names of major vessels, we will also go over each different type or classification as well. -Week 4: In the final week, we will learn about the anatomy of the human respiratory system as well as breaking the entire system down into regional groups to better understand the many different structures that comprise the respiratory system. In addition to learning the names of important organs and tissues, we will also go over each different type or classification as well. When students complete all four weeks of the class, they will have gained a basic understanding of human anatomy in preparation for more in-depth future studies for students desiring to enter health care fields. This class uses short lectures over images of the human anatomical systems, inviting the students to expand upon their current understanding. Short video clips or animations are also used to bring a visual learning element to the class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about many of the different structures that make up these anatomical systems, as well as learning the functions of these systems that we use every day. Students will learn ways to help remember challenging content that makes sense and is even fun.
