Students will be given opportunities for speaking and oral reading. They will be assessed informally through participation, questioning, and by completing a written response and drawing based on the chapters we read. Students are asked to complete their reading/writing assignment if they do not finish before class is over. Students/parents are welcome and encouraged to send the student's work to me through Outschool if they would like it proofread and/or would like some additional feedback on the student's writing.Grades Offered
The following materials may be helpful to students as we practice vocabulary and make connections in the story: -paper -pencil -highlighter -colored pencils -The Boy and His Horse by C.S. Lewis (The teacher will share the book through the document camera, so it is not necessary to have a copy. However, some students may prefer to have their own.)
The book will be discussed from a literary point of view, not as an allegory. Religious themes often associated with this book will not be discussed in this class.
