Class Experience

Before the Lord of the Rings, there was The Hobbit.

In this class student will learn about tragedy, adventure, bravery, love, trust, greed and much more from this thrilling book and movie series.

The only background knowledge for this class is the ability to read.

There will be homework assignments. The assignment included but not limited to a character analysis, a letter to a character, quizzes, word searches, watching movies, scavenger hunts and fun projects. Students will be encouraged to complete all assignments and to interact with other leaners within the class. I will encourage students to present projects via video.

Discussions will include topics that will deepen the learners understanding of the book, help them identify details in the book and to keep learners interactive with their classmates and myself. Discussions will need to be at least a paragraph long and responses will depend on how many other students are enrolled in the class. Discussions can be done either by video or by text. The option is up to the students.

Learners will be evaluated on their participation and completion of homework assignments.

This class is a live class that meets once a week. Every class will have a kahoot quiz for the learners to have fun.

I love reading and analyzing books, seeing the deeper meanings, and learning from the difficulties of life all written on the pages of books. Books are a great way to teach and a great way to learn. I like to read great books, teach their lessons and be entertained and I try my best to keep classes fun while doing all these great things.
