In this flexible schedule course, we will explore the many changes and transformations that the art of dance has experienced throughout the world's history. As an experienced dance teacher, I believe it is important for all dance students to learn the history behind the styles of dance they are learning in class. Non-dancers may also enjoy this course, as it encourages them to explore a diverse, inclusive dance world and discusses cultural and social influences, important historical figures...
As a dance teacher and artist, I feel that it is very important for all students to learn the history of dance and theater arts. I have been dancing most of my life and now teach ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and creative movement to homeschoolers locally.
