Description
Class Experience
Students ages 11-15 years old will meet in this one-time session in a small to medium-sized class. This class is for curious students interested in learning the basic history of astrology and information about the modern interpretation of each sign included in the astrological or Zodiac calendar. Astrology and Astronomy can be traced back to the ancient Sumerian culture in 3000 B.C. and possibly even earlier with discoveries made by archaeologists and historians. We will learn about...
Students will gain well-rounded and objective general knowledge about the history of astrology up to the present time. After this course, students will be able to make their own informed, objective conclusions. Learning about ancient practices, cultures, and knowledge, including how this ancient knowledge was applied to everyday life like planting crops and traveling in ancient societies.
The use of Astrology in conjunction with Astronomy was done throughout our human history. The knowledge of this practice constitutes a formative scientific gains in our society’s evolution. The ancient schoolers and practitioners expressed an open-mindedness to universal possibilities and provided civil guidance using the constellations and planets of our solar system. The significance of this information serves as a lesson in how information is exchanged and how beliefs evolve over many centuries. As a person who has been researching this topic for over twenty years, I use a wide range of verified sources and different types of sources. I make a point to select my resources deliberately and with the age group and verified data in mind. I have made a practice of collecting, recording, and verifying years of data on the subject of Astrology and Astronomy, witch-trails, ancient traditions and teachings, and ancient history and cultural beliefs. I can make connections between various sources of data, processing it into understandable and relatable information. The information taught in my classes is verifiable and based on actual historical records. This class will get the students thinking and generating new questions to ask about our collective pasts. I feel confident that I can teach your student objective and unbiased history based on pure historical fact. I have a masters degree in Healthcare Administration, and I am well versed in research and finding definitive information with a minor in cultural anthropology.
