Description

Class Experience

I have taught middle school for over twenty-five years and still love it! It amazes me that even though the world has changed much in these twenty-five-plus years there are some things that always stay the same with this age group. One of those is the fascination with ghost stories or hauntings of any kind. I have been fortunate enough to get to share these haunted family stories year after year with my students and they continue to look forward to hearing them each week. Excited to share them with more students from all corners of our world.
35 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
Although I have been sharing these family stories with middle schoolers for many years you know your child best. Each story has a different theme and could be scarier for some students and not so scary for others. Please look over each story and the brief parental guide I have included so you can make the best choice for your child. Please feel free to contact me if you have specific questions or concerns about any of the stories as I do not want to give too much suspense away for the students.

Week 1 The Last Goodbye (An elderly family member peacefully moves on, leaving behind a cherished goodbye.)
Week 2 The Guardian Angels (Sisters protected from harm/Blood from a fall is mentioned and a moment where someone chokes.)
Week 3 The Original Lady Gaga (Possible ghosts mentioned and something mysteriously moves without an apparent explanation.)
Week 4 The Third Cat (A scraping noise is heard throughout the night yet the animals are all accounted for.)
Week 5 The Voice (A unexplained deep voice is heard. An old chair rocks on its own. A mysterious presence is felt.)
Week 6 The Slow Walker (The description of the Slow Walker includes an eerie absence of regular features.)
Week 7 Lady In White (She appears in places faster than one would expect.)
Week 8 Don't Be Late (Unexplained, spooky yet comical ghostly series of events that happen when someone is late for work. )
