1 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this class, I will teach students how to draw and use the grids used to successfully draw with the grid method. The grid method is a technique many artists use to correctly draw proportions when drawing things like faces, bodies, and anything else that requires proportions to be exact in order to look correct. It requires printing a photo and drawing a grid on it (the grid should be the size of the photo), and then drawing a grid of the same measurements on a blank sheet of paper so that a photo can be redrawn in parts which is easier and more accurate than drawing it all at once. I will first explain the grid method, and then we will practice using it to draw a proportionally correct apple and facial outline from photos I will provide. I will assist students throughout the class to ensure grids are drawn and used correctly.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how the grid method works, and they will be able to use it to draw accurate proportions from photos.
