Instead of The Greatest Spectacular on Earth, let's make The Greatest Spectacular ONLINE! In this 6 Session Course students will learn 1 new Musical Dance Routine and 1 Musical Theatre solo from the beloved Greatest Showman! This class is great for beginning and intermediate levels of theatre, music or dance. Being online specifically helps challenge the young artist to stay within their space while dancing, learn how to emote realistically with a camera that captures everything and to be adaptive in any situation. At the end of the 6 sessions students will have their projects, performance ready. They will record their performances before the last class and we will watch each students performance and talk about what we have learned! Not to mention this class is a BLAST!!!!! Session 1: Intro to Musical Theatre -What is Musical Theatre? -How is it different than film? -Listen to our three songs for the class -Create Goals Session 2: Choreography for "The Greatest Show" -Warm ups -Learning Choreography for our first song Session 3: Finish "The Greatest Show" -Warm ups -Finish and review Choreography -Introduce "A Million Dreams -reprise" Session 4: Vocalization -Vocal Warm Ups -Listen to students sing -Work on proper vocalization -Run first dance number Session 5: Emotions -Vocal and physical warm ups -Watch students perform vocal piece -Work on the emotions of the piece -Review Choreo with Dance Captains Session 6: Showtime -Watch recorded performances of each student -Applications from the course *This class is for ages 12-15 I have the same class for ages 8-11 **I am a working actress and if I am booked for a project the students will watch a a pre-corded lesson and turn in homework. Families will be told with 24 or more hours in advance

Parental Guidance
Some themes of Greatest Showman may seem more mature. I chose songs from the film that are appropriate for class and for all ages.
Supply List
Nothing will need to be purchased for this course. Students need access to Youtube outside of class. Students need to have the capability to video record (i.e phone, laptop, tablet, camera)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I first taught this class when I was a Chicago- based actress. The students loved learning choreography, music and acting tips from the phenomenon that is The Greatest Showman. Using current shows that students know and are invested in help them become more adaptable for the skills they will learn. Plus, life might feel like a circus so why not sell it!
