Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
This course presents an overview of the events of the Great Chicago Fire. My courses follow an interactive, question-and-answer format, with lesson slides and a Kahoot Quiz at the end to reinforce the material covered.
No preparation is needed to take this class, and no homework will be required. I base most of my classes on youth history books, and I recommend that students read Jim Murphy's, The Great Fire. I provide some overview materials in the classroom so students can get a general idea about the topic beforehand.

Recommended readling: Murphy, Jim. The Great Fire. New York: Scholastic Inc, 2006.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
The Kahoot quiz aims to increase student retention, but otherwise no grades are given.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Fire is destructive by nature, and many people died as a result of the fire, but the class will not dwell deeply on injury and death.
