The Great Chicago Fire was one worst disasters to befall an American City. How and why did it happen? What events led to this disaster, and what can we learn from it today. And why do we blame Mrs. O'Leary's Cow for starting the fire? Learning Goals
This course presents an overview of the events of the Great Chicago Fire. My courses follow an interactive, question-and-answer format, with lesson slides and a Kahoot Quiz at the end to reinforce the material covered.

Parental Guidance
Fire is destructive by nature, and many people died as a result of the fire, but the class will not dwell deeply on injury and death.

I offer interactive and fun social studies and history classes for learners from 8 to 18. Most of my classes are based on a high-quality Young Adult history book.
Before Outschool, I taught U.S. History and Culture at UCLA to Students visiting from China. I have also taught U.S. History at Marymount California University.
I studied history at Pepperdine University (M.A.) and Geography at the University of Montana (B.A). I enjoy learning with my learners on Outschool.
I live in the Los Angeles area with my wife, son, and our small dog Sophie. I enjoy hiking with the Scouts BSA; and playing, collecting, building, buying and selling electric guitars and amps.
