US Grade 5 - 8
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn how author's diction (word choice) effects the overall mood and tone of a story. Students will also examine how character development is tracked through a story and how character motive helps move a story along.
I have been an ELA teacher for 9 years. I have taught middle grades (6-8) for the past 7 years. I private tutor ELA and reading as well. I have taught several novels in class such as, Hoot, Hatchet, 1984, Lord of the Flies, and many more!

Grades Offered
For the end project, students will possibly need access to Google Drive, writing supplies (paper and pencil) or coloring supplies (blank white paper, colored pencils, markers). They may use any household items or computer software that they already have access to.
This novel discusses murder, death, ghosts and all things macabre! If your student is not at the maturity level to discuss such content as it pertains to literature, I would not advise this class.
