"The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes" by Mark Pett and Gary Rubinstein is a delightful book about learning and growing from your mistakes. This book is the perfect introduction to grown mindset. Beatrice Bottomwell has NEVER (not once!) made a mistake. She never forgets her math homework, she never wears mismatched socks, and she ALWAYS wins the yearly talent show at school. In fact, the entire town calls her The Girl Who Never Makes Mistakes. One day, the inevitable happens: Beatrice makes a huge mistake in front of everyone! But in the end, readers (and perfectionists) will realize that life is more fun when you enjoy everything--even the mistakes. In this class we'll read "The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes" and discover that oops! Beatrice made another mistake and locked us inside her bedroom! Your learner will answer reading comprehension questions based on the book to escape the room. This is a great way to learn that it's okay to make a mistake and a fun way to focus on reading comprehension. Every learner will get to answer at least 2 questions on their own and we'll walk through questions together that encourage the students to think deeper about what it would be like to feel as if we have to be perfect and we'll also discuss the positives in making (and learning from) mistakes. After class each learner will be sent a digital certificate (via the message section of the classroom) congratulating them on escaping Beatrice's room!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! I'm a homeschooling mama to two girls who keep me on my toes. I love to learn and love to teach! I teach classes on cooking/baking, math, and a combination of the two! I also teach drama and classes that will hopefully lead to goals being accomplished! I run my own pet sitting business, and, before having my children, was a grant writer for a non-profit that helped the homeless in my community. I have my Bachelor's degree in early education with a minor in Psychology (and a focus on child and adolescent Psych) and recently went back to school to get a second Bachelor's in secondary education with a focus on Psychology. I believe that EVERYONE would love to learn if they are taught in the way that speaks to their spirit. Albert Einstein said "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." A fun personal fact about me: I was once an extra in a movie called "From Justin to Kelly". My back can be seen for about 15 seconds in the film. I think I bought all 5 tickets that were sold for the movie!
