The Gingerbread Man - Expressive Storytime and Sing - Along.

In this one time class, we will practice reading out loud with expression, intonation, voice, and great enunciation. In order to understand what they read, children must be able to read fluently whether they are reading aloud or silently.

Class Experience

Welcome!
Please check the time to ensure it is the correct time.
I teach classes in various countries and time zones so check to see if you are registered for the correct (AM or PM) time.

Students will practice reading out loud to improve their expression, intonation, enunciation, and voice. They will learn to read and speak clearly with good fluency. We will practice choosing when to take pauses and breaths when to pause for dramatic effect or to let the audience think about what was just read. We will practice reading with fluency and cover pronunciation and definitions as needed.

The students will be reading from material presented in class.
I will read some from the text to lead by example, then the students will have turns reading. We will each get to read multiple times, to give time for comments, compliments, reflection, and practice. Much of the time, we will only read a short passage from the chosen book, as we will be reading the passage multiple times.
Due to the nature of this class, it would be helpful to mute their microphones when another student is reading. This will allow the reader to have a distraction-free time to read. Students are welcome to un-mute to give compliments and comments at the end of each student's reading. We will listen to the other students for self-reflection with our own reading style.
Students may turn off their camera if they are feeling particularly shy, however, it is discouraged, because we can "hear" a lot by watching facial expressions. Body language and visual cues tell a large part of the story.

Students are encouraged to take this class multiple times, as many times as needed. Every class builds upon the student's current ability.
