Description

Class Experience

In this one-time class, students will listen to a reading of "The Gingerbread Man" story as retold by Annette Smith.  After the story, I will lead a discussion about what happened at the beginning of the story, in the middle of the story and at the end of the story.  Then, the students can join me in a retelling of the story using the mini paper character puppets that they prepared before the class.  I will encourage the students to retell the story, using their puppets, to a family member...

Students will have the opportunity to practice their retelling of a story.

  1 file available upon enrollmentA one-page PDF of the paper puppets will be provided.  Please print the paper out before class and have the student cut apart the puppets.  Please also have a paper and pencil or whiteboard and marker close by in case we have time to draw a gingerbread man.
Optional:  the student may wish to color the puppets before class.
Optional:  it may be fun to tape the puppets onto popsicle sticks before class.

25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
