Class experience

I hold a bachelor's in education and have taught over 500 classes on U.S. History. Throughout my teaching career, my lessons have covered sensitive subjects such as the treatment of marginalized people, slavery, war, and tragedies of many varieties between the years of 1607-1980. I hold a minor in psychology and have studied developmental psychology in depth which plays a pivotal role in how sensitive information is presented. Age appropriateness and accuracy are at the top of my priorities when covering such information.
This course will cover sensitive topics such as slavery (as its existence has led to the time in history being discussed) and the mistreatment of Native Americans, Chinese immigrants and Irish Immigrants. Additionally, violent events including the Spanish American War and the Assassination of William McKinley will also be covered in the lessons. It is my highest priority to teach events such as these in an age-appropriate way.
