Class Experience

High ability students wear so many labels: gifted, GT, genius, exceptional, and others.  The world often thinks that gifted kids "have it made", are destined for success, and coast through life without worries.  Yet research shows that this myth is not only untrue, it is also harmful, and completely negates the struggles that many GT learners face!  From anxiety to imposter syndrome, gifted kids have challenges that they need to talk about and work through.

Each week students will have an...

Learners may be challenged to complete a homework assignment (optional) for their own growth.  For example, after discussing advocacy, a learner may be challenged to find an opportunity to advocate for themselves at some point during the week.

No supplies are required.  Handouts may occasionally be offered.  It is recommended that students have a private space to attend this meeting so they can share without fear of judgment!

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
