This is a simple and relaxing art activity for learners to practice mindful gift-giving to encourage empathy and appreciation for their loved ones. Learners will first greet and introduce themselves at the beginning of class. Next, we will briefly discuss the importance of gift-giving during the holidays and throughout the year. The objective of this art activity is for learners to practice the gift of giving during the holiday season. Learners will experience the joy of giving to someone else. Learners will learn how to make three unique Christmas cards to give individually or along with a wrapped gift for their loved ones.
After class, learners can write their holiday messages inside their Christmas cards, put it in an envelope and give it to their loved ones for Christmas.
1 file available upon enrollmentSupplies needed for the 3D Christmas tree card: Printable template for 3D Christmas tree printed on light color (pink, green, blue, etc) printing paper (template will be provided by teacher) Dark color cardstock 8.5x11 paper (black, navy blue, dark green, dark red, etc) Foamie gold star sticker Sticker rhinestones Scissors Tacky Glue Ruler Gold/silver sharpie paint pen Optional: Liquid gold gel pen ***I also recommend getting A2 and A9 envelopes (A2 envelopes measure at 4.25 x 5.5 and A9 envelopes measure at 5.5 x 8.5) Supplies needed for the Jeweled Christmas card: White 8.5x11 cardstock paper (the paper will be cut in half for the jeweled and Christmas light card) Assorted jumbo jewel-shaped rhinestones Black fine tip marker or black liquid gel pen Supplies needed for the Christmas Light card: Pencil with a flat eraser Acrylic paint (red, blue, yellow, green, orange, etc) Paper Towel Cup of water
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
