Class Experience
Students will gain a better understanding of the physical geography and peoples of Spain.
My credentials & experiences are as follows: BS in Secondary Education (Geography, Economics, Government & History) AAS in Hotel & Restaurant Management & Studied at Cornell University Member of the National Council for Geographic Education Member of the Texas Alliance for Geographic Education Member of the American Geographical Society Below are my Texas teacher certifications: Soc Sci (6th - 12th) - Geography, Econ., Govt. & History - (Lifetime Teaching Certificate) English Language Arts (6th - 8th) All core subjects (Early Childhood - 6th) English as a Second Language (K - 12th) - I am also a former ESL student I am the mother of a son with ADHD, dysgraphia and Type 1 Diabetes. His twin is a leukemia (JMML) survivor and former Make-A-Wish child. I have experience with children with special needs, both physically and emotionally. I work primarily with middle school & high school students, but I do have experience teaching students as young as 4th grade. I am passionate about teaching Geography, and the Culinary Arts. When I teach, I generally incorporate English Language Arts (ELAR), Science and Math into my lessons.
None, except students are expected to print out the appropriate maps and list of Spain map locations.
Three maps will be provided. One map will show the hydrography (rivers) and location of major cities in Spain. A map of Europe showing the surrounding countries and bodies of water will also be provided. The third map is one of Spain showing its autonomous communities. A list of map locations will also be provided. Learners should come to class with some colored pencils and a pencil and eraser.

The assessment is informal. This lesson is meant to be relaxing and is really just an introduction to the country of Spain since we only have 55 minutes. If time permits, I will end the class with a short and fun quiz-like game.
