Class Experience

In this class, students will learn 9 basic parts of speech - nouns, verbs, pronouns, adverbs, articles, adjectives, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. It will be 55 minutes in length. There will be a PowerPoint and I will teach each slide and call on
students to answer a question related to the slide.

After the parts of speech are introduced, there will be a multiple choice question to review each part of speech. My style is informal and can be silly at times. I try to make learning fun. No knowledge of parts of speech is required.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! I'm Teacher Lauren. I teach English as a Second Language and English including parts of speech, grammar, spelling, and sentence structure. I have a bachelor's degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. I have experience as a Catering Manager for the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas and also experience working for Hyatt hotels as an Executive Administrative Assistant in Sales and Catering, for a total of 10 years in the hospitality industry. I believe proper English skills will benefit children both in their academic and professional careers. I like to make learning fun. I always try to be encouraging, because learning new things can be frustrating and often times, kids can be hard on themselves. I would love to teach your child! I'm looking forward to hearing from you! See you in class!
