1 hour per week. Students will complete occasional homework assignments that will help to reinforce the new vocabulary learned during class. Homework assignments will take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete.Class Experience
It is recommended that learners have taken The French Corner Level 1, 2 & 3 prior to enrolling in this course. This is an interactive online course that encourages active student participation. Students will learn through question and answer discussions, music and online learning games. Week 1: L'art en France. We will learn about French art and famous artists. What is your favorite piece of art? Week 2: Allons-y les amis! Let's talk a little bit about our friends and learn how to describe our favorite things about them. Week 3: Le style et la mode. We will talk about clothing, style and fashion in France versus our home country. Week 4: Les vacances! Let's plan a trip to a new destination to practice our travel vocabulary. Week 5: La plus belle voix! Let's sing a French song together to practice our pronunciation. Week 6: On va organiser une fete! Let's plan a party to make use of our food and number vocabulary. Week 7: Parlez-vous? On va parler des langues étrangères. We will discuss other foreign languages and how to talk about them in French. Week 8: Remplissez ce schema: We will fill in details about a story based on a video. We will also play a game to review what we have learned.

Parental Guidance
Throughout the course we will be making use of YouTube, Nearpod, and Canva. An account is not required for any of these websites. I will be making use of the share screen feature on Zoom to share my presentations, videos and games. When a game is played in class students will use a link provided in the Chat feature on Zoom and will only input their name/nickname.

Hello! My name is Kiana and I'm from New York. I love foreign languages, cooking and photography. I especially enjoy sharing these passions with others who have a thirst for knowledge and an interest in other cultures. I have spent the past nine years teaching students of various ages Basic French, Basic Spanish, Basic Haitian Creole and Cooking. A fun fact about me is that I am a world traveler and I can say a greeting in over 10 languages.
My courses are structured around active participation which allows me to determine the student's level of progress. All are encouraged to develop their reasoning and critical thinking skills. Material sufficient for each session is covered and reviewed to foster learning and improve memory.
