1 hour per week. Students will complete occasional homework assignments that will help to reinforce the new vocabulary learned during class. Homework assignments will take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete.Class Experience
It is recommended that learners have taken The French Corner Level 1 & 2 prior to enrolling in this course. This is an interactive online course that encourages active student participation. Students will learn through question and answer discussions, music and online learning games. Week 1: La France. We will learn all about the country of France and it's geography as well as surrounding countries. We will take at interesting places to visit. Where in France would you like to visit? Week 2: Les fêtes. We will learn about holidays from all over the world in the French language. What holidays do you and your family celebrate? Week 3: Les heros. We will talk about our favorite superheros in the French language. Students will create and describe a fictional character in the French language. Week 4: Le passe, le présent et le futur. Learners will write a short story about their life in the past, present and future. We will play a brief game to review what we have learned thus far. Week 5: La sante. Let's talk about health and wellness in the French language. Week 6: Ou vas tu? We will learn about points of interest that students can visit for entertainment or travel to in the French language. Week 7: Quel jour est-il? We will talk about dates and use the days of the week to describe our normal schedule. Week 8: Oui j'aime ca! Let's have a chat about likes and dislikes. We will play an online game to review what we have learned.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
We will occasionally make use of websites like nearpod.com to play review games. You will NOT need to create an account for your learner. However, a link directing your learner to the website to participate in a game will be sent in the chat box during our Zoom meeting. Learners may need help entering the join game code.
I will also occasionally play or post in the classroom videos from Youtube.com to help supplement our lesson for the day. You will NOT need to create a YouTube account to view the videos. Please ensure that you review the site settings and monitor your child's use of the site to ensure that no inappropriate ads or video suggestions appear.

Hello! My name is Kiana and I'm from New York. I love foreign languages, cooking and photography. I especially enjoy sharing these passions with others who have a thirst for knowledge and an interest in other cultures. I have spent the past nine years teaching students of various ages Basic French, Basic Spanish, Basic Haitian Creole and Cooking. A fun fact about me is that I am a world traveler and I can say a greeting in over 10 languages.
