1 hour per week. Short writing and memorization activities will occasionally be assigned to students. The activities should take no longer than 10 to 15 minutes to complete each week.Class Experience
It is recommended that students have completed The French Corner: Beginner French Level 1 before enrolling in this course. This is an interactive online course that encourages student participation. Students will learn through question and answer discussions, music and online learning games. Week 1: Les numeros. Students will learn how to pronounce the teens, twenties, then hundreds, thousands and beyond. Week 2: Ou vas tu? Students will learn all about transportation. Week 3: Coucou! Students will learn about hotel language. Week 4: La table est servie! Students will learn about different types of French restaurants, food and beverages. Students will also identify the ingredients in a simple French recipe. Week 5: L'argent et les ordinateurs. Students will learn about money in France and we will discuss telephones, mail and computers. Week 6: On va au centre commercial! We will talk about shopping and different types of stores. Week 7: Les emissions et la detente. We will talk about entertainment including television, movies, music and zoos. Week 8: Au secours! We will discuss vocabulary that can be used in the case of an emergency. We also play a game as a review of topics discussed during class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn useful basic French words and phrases.

Students will need the following items: A lined notebook, pencils/pens, markers/colored pencils and construction paper.
