1 hour per week. Short writing and memorization activities will be assigned to students. The activities should take no longer than 10 to 15 minutes to complete each week.Class Experience
No prior knowledge of French is required. This is an interactive online course that encourages student participation. Students will learn through question and answer discussions, music and online learning games. Week 1: It's as easy as ABC! Students will learn the French alphabet. We're going to use videos to practice how to put on that perfect French accent! We will also discuss L'histoire. Where in the world is French spoken? Week 2: Students will learn colors and numbers using memory games and songs. Week 3: Coucou! Students will learn a few basic greetings and how to talk about our family. We will engage in basic conversation. Week 4: Montre moi tes photos! We will learn how to describe people using physical features. We will use drawing activities to help your child to parler francais! Show and tell! We will also learn how to describe animals and our pets in French. Week 5: Bon appetit! We will learn about typical French food and drinks. Students will learn how to say they are hungry or thirsty. Students will learn how to describe ingredients needed for a simple French Crepe (thin pancake) recipe in French. Week 6: On danse! What do you like to do for fun? Through music students will enjoy a lesson on les loisirs, your favorite hobbies. Students will also learn about French clothing. Week 7: We will learn about common French names, special events, life in France and popular places to visit in Paris. Week 8: Let's sing! We will sing a popular French song together. Students will practice using vocabulary they have learned to describe a series of pictures. We also play a game as a review of topics discussed during class.
