This class is for students who have taken my other beginner piano classes, including the "Hands Together" class ( level 2 extension class). At this point the student should be able to find the notes on the keyboard, play some basic melody...
Students will learn to play some new songs, with the right hand as well as songs using two hands. They will have the opportunity to create and improvise. The students will learn some major scales and at least one minor scale. They will experience playing in major keys, as well as in a minor key.
I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher. I have taught piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and general music classes, in both the classroom and private settings. I was head of the music department at a private high school in Maryland. I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio. I have a bachelor's degree in music education, from Towson University, plus graduate studies in music education.
I will upload all the materials, into the outschool classroom, that the students need for their practice sessions.

Informal assessment . Verbal communication with each student , as they are progressing.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
