This is a three-day camp designed as a review/mastery course for students wanting to improve their essay writing skills. Over the course of three days, students will write an introduction paragraph, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph. Students will also be provided with multiple handouts that will be available to keep/download for future use! Day One: Students will come to the first meeting knowing the topic of choice (Students will be given a list of argumentative essay topics upon enrollment). Students will learn how to write a gripping hook, thorough background information, and a well-structured thesis statement. Homework: Students will be given an essay planner that will be completed throughout the course of the three days. Day one's homework will be to write a thesis statement and hook in their essay planner. Day Two: Students will learn the basics and structure of well-organized body paragraphs. Students will also learn how to use citations properly and how to seamlessly integrate quotes within their writing. Homework: Students will fill in the next part of their essay planner. Students will find their three quotes that they will be using in their essay and include them in the body paragraph portion of their essay planner. Day Three: Students will learn how to write a memorable, comprehensive conclusion paragraph. Students will be given a final essay checklist and will be taught editing skills for their final paper. Homework: Students will fill in the remaining section of their planner. Students will write their final thought-provoking sentence in the conclusion paragraph portion of the planner. Students will submit their planners before sending their final draft to receive any needed suggestions for their paper. When the class is completed, students will have two days to send the essay for feedback and editing from the teacher. Students will be provided with a final grade after completing this course.

Hello everyone! My name is Gabriella and I teach English Language Arts classes. I teach classes based on novels, short stories, and writing essays. I have a Master's Degree in Secondary Education and am a New Jersey Certified teacher. I have my Bachelor's Degree in English Language Arts from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I also have an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts/ Secondary Education. I have had hundreds of hours in the classroom doing observations and teaching lesson plans. I am a Google Certified Educator and an Editor of two children's books! I believe in teaching meaningful classes that will help students succeed, not only in school but in college as well. Developing strong writing skills is crucial for success in higher education and I am here to help! I will be available at all times to help students answer any questions and set them up for success in my class. My main goal is to create a classroom environment where students can learn, feel comfortable, respected, safe, and have fun!
