In this one-time class, we will go through a normal day at school. As we discuss the day, I will share pictures of schools and classrooms and also read a two books—“Grover’s First Day at School” by Heather Au and “A Day at School” by Kebin Terry. This is to help your child get an idea of what his or her school may look like. We will start with waking up for school, transportation to school, and what to expect when you arrive at school. We will talk about making new friends to sitting in the school cafeteria. We will also talk about walking in the hallways to getting ready to go home. We will finish up with a fun first day of school activity. As an experienced Elementary school teacher, I have seen been in many diverse school settings. I feel confident that I can help your child feel good about going to school. Learners can openly ask me any questions they may have throughout the class.
