US Grade 2 - 5
The introductory class for the F14 will study in-depth the Tomcat with regards to the role, wing design, engine details, cockpit details, ejection seats, radar, navigation system, and missile load. Variants F14 A, F14B, F14 D, will be discussed as well as variants that were never built beyond the test phase. The Aim 54 Phoenix platform will also be addressed. The class will be taught as a combination PowerPoint plus a review of pictures taken during a Tiger Cruise on the USS Constellation and various airshows. I teach in a very open style and encourage questions and participation.

Students will be able to point out and describe facts about the F14 Tomcat with respect to the build and the mission.

I am a Science Teacher with 24 years of experience in public schools. I have degrees in Marine Science, Natural Science, and Earth Science Education. Science is a passion that I have had since I was a boy. Learning Science should be fun,.... because SCIENCE is FUN ! I teach anything related to my degrees, such as Astronomy, Space Science, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Rocks and Minerals, Weather, Plate Tectonics, etc. with added courses on methods of data presentation such as Excel and PowerPoint. I have also taught Advanced Research Methods such as DNA Extraction, PCR, and Gel Electrophoresis. I am a huge nerd with Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Image, and D.C. Comics, and Science Fiction being my hobbies, along with reading, hiking, fishing, drawing, and model building. Having tagged sharks for 33 years, I am something of a "Shark Nerd" as well. I have taught science to students in grades 5 - 12, ran science fairs for elementary, middle, and high school students, and taught them presentation skills. I am very happy to be joining Outschool and look forward to working with students sharing the wonders of science !!!
