This is a basic introductory course to the hobby of coin and paper money collecting. No previous knowledge is necessary. It will be an on-line course with presentations along with an opportunity for students to ask questions throughout the class. The course will cover the basics of how coins and money were invented; different types of coins and coin collections; how to store and protect your collection; connecting coins with geography, art and history; how to determine the condition of coins; where and how to purchase and add coins and paper money to your collection.
Learning Goals
Students will acquire the basic knowledge to successfully begin collecting coins and paper money.

Supply List
No supplies needed. If students already have coins and paper money, they can have it with them to discuss during the class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
