In this 7-week ongoing course, which does not build on each other, we will discuss a new book every week. Learners will discuss the plot, character traits, plot development, conflict, and so much more. Learners will enjoy reliving the conflict that the main character faces in each story. No prior experience is required for this course and the classes do not build on each other. Week of Oct 24 | James and the Giant Peach Week of Oct 31 | The Lemonade War Week of Nov 7 | Charlotte's Web Week of Nov 14 | Because of Winn Dixie Week of Nov 21 | Sideways Stories from Wayside School Week of Nov 28 | The Tale of Despereaux Week of Dec 4 | From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler After the final session, we will return to the start of the list.
Learning Goals
Through teacher facilitation, learners will discuss the plot, characters, conflict, resolution with peers who have read the same book.

Hello! My name is Ms. Ann and I have been a teacher for over a decade in the beautiful state of VA. I have taught several grades in both Elementary and Middle School. I love to teach. I think the best part of teaching is sharing my knowledge in a variety of subjects and helping students make connections to previous experiences or existing background knowledge.
I am a certified teacher in all core subjects: math, history, science, and language arts (grades K-8 and gifted education). I believe that successful teaching includes building relationships, interest, and engagement with students.
