Description

Class Experience

During this class, students will read a humorous fiction tale by Roald Dahl. This book is a great link from picture books to chapter books. In class, students will have opportunities to talk to peers about the characters, problems, solutions, and vocabulary. In the first section, students will be introduced to the book, make predictions, identify the setting and main characters. During the second session, students will learn more about the supporting characters in the book and be able to...

Students will be able to identify characters and setting in a fiction story. 
Students will be able to identify problems and solutions in a story. 
Students will be able to write a response to text. 
Students will be able to use new vocabulary words in a sentence.

Students will be required to read a short section of the book prior to lessons 2, 3, and 4. Students may complete writing assignments outside of class.

(Optional) A print or digital copy of The Enormous Crorocile, by Roald Dahl, $7.99

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

There are no formal assessments, but I will provide feedback on all submitted written responses.

2 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
