In this one time class, students will learn the means by which the president of the United States is elected, the electoral college. Discussion, illustrations, power point slides, and an in class worksheet will be used to teach concepts and principles of the lesson. Students will learn the difference between the popular vote and the electoral vote, the reason the electoral college came to be, its perceived benefits, and why some object to it.
