US Grade Kindergarten - 3
This class is a simple introduction into how to raise backyard chickens. It is designed to teach children the basics of how to care for chickens and what to expect from raising chickens. Children do not need to have chickens to be a part of this class. Students will learn the basics of how farmers care for chickens, some different breeds of chickens, and the life cycle of a chicken all from an experienced chicken owner! This class includes an informational handout, coloring sheet, and craft to do after class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn:
-the life cycle of a chicken
-a few different types of chicken breeds
-how chicken eggs are different colors
-the difference between a hen and a rooster
-what chickens eat
-where chickens live
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is suggested for using scissors and glue for the craft project that can be done after class.
Supply List
A coloring page, informational sheet, and printable craft will be provided for after class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
