US Grade 5 - 8
Intermediate Level
Is your learner confused on what needs to be included in an essay? Then, this is the class for them! In this one time session, I will break the essay down into the 3 parts: the introduction, the body paragraph, and the conclusion. We will discuss the types of essays: expository, analytical, descriptive, narrative, and persuasive/argumentation and the purpose of each. Then, the information that must be included in each part will be explained. An example of the introduction, body paragraph, and conclusion will be shown for an expository/informational essay. A summary handout will be provided so that the student retains this information. I teach in a relaxed manner and have taught writing for over 25 years to all ages. My goal is to enable your learner to write without frustration! Class Rules: We mute so we do not talk over one another, we are kind and respectful to everyone, we raise our hand if we have a question or comment, and as per the Outschool rules, the camera is turned on at the beginning of class so I may verify the learner.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of the types of essays and the format of each.
