Welcome to the incredibly funny and unpredictable world of The Dog Man Reader's Theater: Fluency/Comprehension Course (Books 1-12). In this course we will read a different Dog Man book together in class each week and we will stop to discuss the events of the book as we read. After each class, students will be sent an optional printable workbook with comprehension questions and vocabulary words from each chapter, as well as some extra bonus activities such as mazes and word searches. This class is highly interactive and will provide each learner with many opportunities to participate throughout each class. We will be reading in the style of reader's theater where each student will be playing a different character in the book (some students may have the opportunity to be multiple characters depending on how many students are in one class session). Students are encouraged to read in a voice that represents the character and to use inflection while reading to really bring the book to life. While we are reading the teacher will also be playing one of the characters and will be ready to assist students with any unfamiliar words. I welcome all learners and I understand that some learners like to verbally participate often, while others may wish to just sit back, listen, and enjoy the book. If your learner is shy and you would prefer to allow them to just follow along as the other students read aloud please send me a message and I happy to accommodate your learner. However, I find that many shy students eventually find themselves wanting to participate once they feel more comfortable which is also welcome and encouraged. Students who are learning English as a second language are also a good fit for this class as they are able to practice listening and reading skills and are able to participate verbally as often as they feel comfortable with. The teacher of this class is a current full time public school teacher with an additional certification for teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL). Although it is helpful for students to read the books in order, it is not required for students to have read the previous books in order to enroll after the ongoing class has already begun. Since each week focusses on en entirely new book, students only need to have that week's assigned book with them when they come to class. Following is an outline of which books will be read each week: 1. Dog Man (Book 1) by Dav Pilkey 2. The Adventures of Dog Man: Unleashed (Book 2) by Dav Pilkey 3. Dog Man: A Tale of Two Kitties (Book 3) by Dav Pilkey 4. Dog Man: Dog Man and Cat Kid (Book 4) by Dav Pilkey 5. Dog Man: Lord of the Fleas (Book 5) by Dav Pilkey 6. Dog Man: Brawl of the Wild (Book 6) by Dav Pilkey 7. Dog Man: For Whom the Ball Rolls (Book 7) by Dav Pilkey 8. Dog Man: Fetch-22 (Book 8) by Dav Pilkey 9. Dog Man: Grime and Punishment (Book 9) by Dav Pilkey 10. Dog Man: Mothering Heights (Book 10) by Dav Pilkey 11. Dog Man: Twenty Thousand Fleas Under the Sea (Book 11) by Dav Pilkey 12. Dog Man: The Scarlet Shredder (Book 12) by Dav Pilkey

A Message From the Founder:
As a current 3rd grade public school teacher of 5 years and a current Outschool teacher, I know that students simply learn different today than they did only a few years ago. This knowledge has required me to find creative and fun ways to provide Common Core curriculum to students in a different and refreshing ways that fits how kids learn today. When designing classes for Teaching Done Different it is always my aim to help students learn rigorous material in such a fun way that they don't even realize they are learning.
