Description

Class Experience

*The student will work on developing and sustaining foundational language skills: listening, speaking, discussion, and thinking; oral language.
*The student will work on developing comprehension skills by reading assigned texts, making predictions, making personal connections, and generate questions before, during and after reading.
*The student will use text evidence to support an appropriate response.
*The student will be able to describe the main character’s traits.
*The student will be able to describe and understand the main events, the conflict, and the resolution.
*The student will be able to discuss the author’s purpose for writing the text.
*I am an experienced elementary teacher and reading specialist. Reading is my passion and I love inspiring reading in the younger child!
*The Data Set collection 1-10 **Can be found on Amazon, Kindle, etc.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parents, I have chosen this set of books to get the students excited to read and discuss and that is appropriate for this age group. Please research each book on your own so you are comfortable with the content. As the parent or guardian, it is your role to make sure that the books are appropriate for your child as each child is different.
