Class Experience

 Do you love crystals, rocks, stones, and minerals of all shapes and kinds? Are you always finding stones that you just have to bring home? Do you like learning about how crystals are made and about where they can be found around the world? Yes?! Awesome, welcome to your new favorite club! In this class we will divide our time into exploration of a different stone each week and sharing favorites from our own collections and wish-lists. We will discuss geological origins of stones (Where did...

Students will learn geology basics and foundational research skills. They will be invited to express their ideas and questions, encouraging critical thinking. Students will also learn conversational skills such as patient listening, sharing knowledge, taking turns, and asking questions.

I'm Teacher Taylor Love. Hello Learners! I am a Registered Yoga Teacher, an ESL teacher, a photographer, and a nature enthusiast. My appreciation for rocks and crystals began when I lived in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Arvada, Colorado for two and a half years. While I was in Colorado, I began collecting, learning about, and admiring rocks and crystals on a whole new level by exploring nature and the many shops and stores that Colorado has to offer. I'm so thrilled to share one of my favorite things with students on Outschool!

Optional supplies: the Learner's stones, rocks, crystals and minerals.
