Description
Class Experience
During the 7 weeks of The Creative Writing Cafe, students will learn various techniques that they can use in their creative writing activities. The first part of each class will be dedicated to learning a technique and then the last part will begin the writing workshop model. Implementing the learned techniques immediately will allow the learner to really engage in the process and become more comfortable as writers. I will be available for instant feedback and to brainstorm ideas together....
Learner's will learn various ways to enhance their creative writing pieces and feel more comfortable as young writers.
Hello! My name is Mrs. Pruitt. I am a certified K-12 Educator with 8.5 years of experience teaching. During my teaching career I have taught special education (K-12) and kindergarten. I have a bachelors degree in Journalism, I interned at a newspaper while in college and I have a Masters degree in Education. I am so excited to offer my Creative Writing Cafe class.
Optional: I will assign writing prompts that the student may choose to complete on their own and add into their writing journal.
-1 composition notebook -pen or pencil
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
