includedClass Experience
I am going on maternity leave in mid-January and will be back to teaching in mid-March. If you would like to schedule classes that bookend that break, please reach out! This learner-directed course will guide your student as they learn piano using Faber and Faber's Piano Adventures method. Learners will get one-on-one lessons with me as they learn songs from their lesson books and new music theory topics in each lesson. I encourage creativity during their lessons, so along with learning to play the songs as written in their books, we will invent new challenging ways to play them and they will exercise their creativity as they compose their own songs. Send me a message if you have questions about which level Faber and Faber Piano Adventures book to order for your learner. Teacher Loss of Internet Policy: Where I live is prone to power outages during storms, so if I lose power, and I'm not able to log into Zoom during the first 10 minutes of class the learner can leave, and I will reach out to schedule a make-up lesson. If we can start class but I lose internet with more than 5 minutes of class time left, I will contact you to set up a make-up time for the remaining time (probably by extending the next lesson). If we have less than 5 minutes of class time left, I will post a video with additional class material or a game once my connection is restored. Learner Cancelation/Missed Class Policy: If there are any days when your learner will be unable to make the lesson, please let me know by the Friday before the lesson they will miss so that I can remove it from the schedule before Outschool charges you. While I adapt the schedule as soon as I can, because of time zone differences, I may not be able to answer you right away, and I want to have plenty of time to make the schedule change before Outschool charges you on the Sunday before your learner's class. For example, if your student will miss their lesson on Monday, February 7, Tuesday, February 8, or Friday, February 11, I need to know to cancel it by Friday, February 4. If you ask to cancel a class after the Friday before the class, we will not meet, but you will be charged. If you have any issues with logging in, receiving a refund, or using the platform, feel free to reach out to Outschool support or read the help articles located at support.outschool.com Class photo by Rodnae Productions on Pexels
Learning Goals
The student will learn a mixture of the lesson, pop, and classical piano music, music theory skills appropriate to their musical level, and be encouraged to create their own music.
