Welcome to part 2 of my Fashion Design Program!

Over the next three months, we will journey through the world of basic patternmaking together where you will learn all about the tools needed, and the step-by-step process for creating a basic legging pattern and bodice block. 

This program is designed to give students hands-on experience learning patternmaking. For students that aspire to become a fashion designer this course will allow them to get their feet wet learning patternmaking for beginners. 

CLASS FORMAT:
Lectures will be given live twice a week using screen share and some worksheets.

LESSONS: See syllabus for the breakdown of what is taught each week in class.

By the end of the course, you will have created your own personal legging pattern, sleeve, and bodice block. You will also receive a certificate of completion for beginner's patternmaking, showcasing your hard work and dedication.

Lesson 1:
The Difference Between Commercial & Indie Patterns
 This lesson takes a look at the difference between the big 4 and Indie patterns.

Other Details

Pre-Requisites
Student's must have basic knowledge of how to use their sewing machine. Sewing machine basics will not be taught during this course, and students will be using the sewing machine to construct the patterns created during the course.

To successfully complete this course students will need the following:

Patternmaking Paper = Butcher paper, dollar store kraft, or wrapping paper can be used for a more cost effective papper instead of patternmaking paper for drafting.
