This class will explore Operation Valkyrie, an attempted military-organized coup that revolved around the assassination of Adolf Hitler on July 20, 1944. It was originally presented as part of my 'Heroes of World War II ongoing history club.' In this one-time course, we will learn a little bit about the men who masterminded the plan, as well as the plan itself. Students will gain an understanding of Operation Valkyrie, and the courageous Germans who attempted to overthrow Hitler.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
All conspirators in the plot to overthrow Hitler are arrested and executed, so if your child is seeking a course with an uplifting ending, this is not it. However, the courage and heroism of these men will be highlighted.
