Description
Class Experience
Students and families will learn about the various aspects of the college application process.
I am a NYS certified English teacher, college counselor (UCLA Extension, 2018), higher education administrator, and former attorney. Since 2018, I have offered college counseling to juniors and seniors both in a school and as an independent college consultant. Each year, I provide feedback on nearly 80 seniors' Common App personal statements (college essays) in a school. To do so, I teach a two-hour introductory group workshop, and I continue to work with each senior individually -- sometimes through as many as nine and ten drafts! -- until they are fully satisfied with their essays. I also advise students on the national QuestBridge scholarship application.
All materials will be provided.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
