The Classics Club: Original Tale of Cinderella
In this one-time course, students will explore classic literature while practicing fundamental reading skills. Students will have the opportunity to keep an illustrator's journal to express their creativity and connection to the text.

Class Experience
Grade Level Standards: 1st grade - Retell stories, including key details, and demonstrate understanding of their central message or lesson 2nd grade - Recount stories, including fables and folktales from diverse cultures, and determine their central message, lesson, or moral 3rd grade - Recount stories, including fables and folktales from diverse cultures; and determine the central message, lesson, or moral and explain how it is conveyed through key details in the text 4th grade - Determine a theme of a story, drama, or poem from details in the text; summarize the text
Students are welcome to complete their illustrator's journal entries if they did not finish during the class time. They may also post them for sharing.
Please provide your student with an artist's sketchbook or plain paper notebook, as well as a pencil or colored pencils.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
